Itinerant Pastor

Reverend: Plathon P. Watson

Rev. Plathon P. Watson is an itinerant elder at First AME Church Alexandria. He formerly served at Reid Temple AME Church under the guidance of Rev. Doctor Lee P. Washington (Retired), and briefly with the current pastor, Rev. Mark D. Whitlock. Rev. Watson co-chaired the Master touch ministry, responsible for assigning Ministers to visit the sick and shut-in members and worked faithfully with the nursing home and men’s ministries.

 

Rev. Watson is employed with the Department of Aging and Community Living (DACL) where he assists seniors, and adults with disabilities, in locating affordable housing in the District of Columbia while serving as DACL’s liaison with the DC Housing Authority.

 

A native of Columbus, GA, Rev. Watson attended Tuskegee Institute, now Tuskegee University, for two years prior to enlisting in the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division, and later serving with the Army’s Finance Corp.

 

He holds a Master of Divinity Degree from Howard University; a Master of Business Administration Degree from Troy State University; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies from the University of Maryland’s Global Campus; and an Associate of Arts Degree in Liberal Arts from Fayetteville State University. Rev. Watson is currently a second-year student at Southern Wesleyan University, where he is pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration Degree.

 

Rev. Watson is married to the love of his life, Mayleen Santos, and enjoys being a father to their son, Ethan Alexander. Rev. Watson is a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
